Curative Healthcare Ecosystem is Broken

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), noncommunicable diseases / chronic diseases kill 41 million people each year, equivalent to 71% of all deaths globally[1]. Each year, more than 15 million people in the age group of 30 to 69 years, die from such diseases. 85% of these "premature" deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries.

While the traditional curative healthcare infrastructure is well suited to address acute diseases, it is falling short to address the increasing share of chronic diseases across the world. Lagging public healthcare spending is creating further bottlenecks in administering healthcare needs of a population that is increasingly becoming sick.
